Skip tracing is what comes before service of process when the recipient isn't at the address on the case file. AJL runs traces against the same public-records and credit-bureau sources the Tier-1 platforms use, at a flat rate anywhere in California.
Pricing
Flat $80 per recipient, anywhere in California.
What's in the trace report
- Best-known current address (most recent verified)
- Up to three secondary addresses from the past 24 months
- Phone numbers associated with the recipient (when surfaced)
- Date the trace was run, sources used (in summary)
When to use it
- The address on the case file is a prior residence
- Mail to the address on file has come back undeliverable
- The recipient has moved out of state and back
- Service attempts at the listed address have already failed twice
How to request
Send the recipient's last-known information (full legal name, last address, date of birth if you have it, any known associates or employers) via the contact form or by phone to (916) 603-1643. Trace results are returned in writing within 1–3 business days.
What happens when the trace lands
The new address can be added directly to the serve — no re-keying of details, no second order number. The serve runs at the per-county tier (Sacramento County or statewide) above the flat trace fee.
